About The Position

KF Aerospace is seeking a Technical Writer to join their team. The Technical Writer will be responsible for maintaining and updating various KF Aerospace manuals, as well as developing new and supplemental documents for current and future design projects. KF Aerospace is a company that specializes in a wide range of aviation services, including maintenance and modifications, cargo operations, military pilot training, and aircraft leasing, with facilities across Canada and over 1,200 employees.

Requirements

Avionics experience would be a definite asset
Work from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and other source data
Interpret OEM avionic documentation into usable text for maintenance and operational manuals
Write in AECMA Simplified English
Use FrameMaker desk-top publishing software
Use Access to produce illustrated parts catalogue databases
Use illustration software for annotating illustrated parts list and other illustrations
Familiar with ATA 100 and other aerospace publication specifications
Familiarity with SGML documentation an asset
Produce linked documents in Acrobat for intranet publication
Self-starter
Work well within a group
Work well under pressure
Good interview skills: i.e. when speaking with engineers or pilots, be able to interpret their requirements into usable text
Good research skills
Well organised
Able to produce good estimates and meet deadlines
Effective time manager
Adaptable

Responsibilities

Produce OEM manual updates for the Convair CV580 airplane that include: Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogues, Flight Manuals, and Service Bulletins
Produce stand-alone supplements to support modification/installations on various aircraft types
Maintain good records of publications production
Maintain control of manual revision status
