Summary We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our Transmission and Distribution team! As a Technical Writer with our team your role: Develops, writes, edits, and maintains operating and maintenance policies, processes, and procedures. Observes operating activities to determine operating procedure and detail. Interviews operations, maintenance, planning, engineering, and supervisory and management personnel and reads reports and other material to become familiar with operating systems and processes. Organizes materials and completes writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.

Requirements

  • AA/AS degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in an electric industry environment
  • Two (2) years’ experience drafting operating and maintenance policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in PC software applications including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Applicants must be a U.S. person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), a Political Asylee, or a Refugee under the U.S. Export Control Laws.
  • All applicants for this position will be required to confirm their U.S. person status.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain operating and maintenance policies, processes, and procedures
  • Manage and maintain the policies, processes, and procedures database, library, and metrics.
  • Ensures compliance documentation aligns with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain technical proficiency in the assigned discipline.
  • Submits timely reports and other appropriate correspondence.
  • Maintains personal safety.
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn and to help others.
