About The Position

Write and edit technical and program documentation, including user manuals, test plans and reports, and technical briefings. Collaborate with subject matter experts and analyze source materials to translate technical concepts and engineering data into easy-to-understand material for technical and non-technical audiences. Review, edit, and enhance existing documentation or content of user manuals, web pages, and other delivery media while maintaining version control. Apply relevant quality, regulatory standards, and best practices for readability. Work with direction on tasking and timelines, but without oversight while assisting and mentoring team members through the documentation editing and review process.

Requirements

  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail and maintain consistency in formatting, terminology, and style
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience writing and editing DoD documentation, technical publications, training materials, and proposal artifacts, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience writing and editing DoD documentation, technical publications, training materials, and proposal artifacts

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MIL‑STD, government technical writing requirements, or similar controlled-documentation standards
  • Experience collaborating with engineering, logistics, and program management teams to ensure accuracy, configuration control, and timely updates to documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple publication projects and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to learn Adobe FrameMaker, Acrobat, and Microsoft Visio
