Requirements

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree; FOUR (4) years of additional professional experience in lieu of a Bachelor's
  • Minimum ONE (1) year of experience writing, editing, and maintaining technical documentation or related content.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting defense, security, public safety, or government-related documentation efforts.
  • Familiarity with technical writing standards, content management systems, and document control processes.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of accessibility, plain language, or user-centered documentation practices.
  • Experience with graphics, diagrams, or other visual content to support technical materials.
  • Proficiency with common documentation tools and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, and maintain clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation, including user guides, process documentation, and supporting materials.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, program teams, and stakeholders to gather information and translate complex technical concepts into audience-appropriate content.
  • Research, organize, and verify technical information to ensure documentation is complete, current, and compliant with organizational standards.
  • Create and update content for internal and external audiences using established templates, style guides, and documentation processes.
  • Review documentation for accuracy, consistency, grammar, formatting, and usability before publication.
  • Manage multiple documentation assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
