About The Position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Engineering & Analysis, and Training. As a Technical Writer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have an opportunity to do the following: Write, rewrite and/or edit material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications. Impart a wide range of knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in technical fields and related disciplines gained through wide exposure to weapons systems operations and/or test and evaluation processes and procedures. Confer with authors and subject matter experts to recommend edits to technical documentation to include review of content for completeness, accuracy and correctness of language use. Verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources.

Requirements

• Active SECRET clearance.
• Must be able to work under general direction and independently determine and develop approaches to technical documentation production.
• BS/BA and 5-7 years of related experience.

Nice To Haves

• Previous technical writing experience supporting NSWC DET WS or other NSWC Detachments is highly desired.
