We specialize in big data, cloud development, and enterprise management solutions, focusing on product usability and end-user presentation to aid customer decision-making. The Technical Writer will join a contract supporting Enterprise IT (EIT) capabilities for the Intelligence Community (IC), focusing on operations, future technologies, engineering, Tier 2/3 support, break/fix, and tech refresh activities globally.

Requirements

  • 7 years of technical writing experience.
  • Minimum of five years in a technical or lead writing role.
  • Ability to distill complex information into clear, concise text.
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver accurate content under deadline pressure.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering developer-oriented documentation.
  • Experience working directly with development teams.
  • Experienced using multiple tools to develop base templates and manipulate output styles.
  • Thorough understanding of software development, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and other key terminology on this contract.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field (or an additional 4 years of experience without a degree).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and understanding of SDLC, IC ITE, Risk Management Framework (RMF) and/or PWS terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and writing various types of user documents, including how-to guides, reference manuals, cheat sheets, or instructions.
  • Explaining scientific and technical ideas in simple language.
  • Working with customers to translate functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.
  • Providing overall leadership of technical writing tasks and serving as the primary liaison to the government for contract coordination and task execution.
  • Serving as the Process Owner for all technical documentation on the program, including documentation produced by other technical writers.
  • Writing and editing technical documentation for the project’s hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and how-to documentation.
  • Preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
  • Applying writing and grammar skills to deliver accurate documentation under tight deadlines.
  • Designing and developing developer-oriented documentation and collaborating directly with developer teams.
  • Using documentation tools to develop templates and create output in various mediums.
  • Managing experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments.
  • Demonstrating innovative influence within a project that has impact and participation from multiple stakeholders.
