About The Position

Erias Ventures is seeking a Technical Writer to support the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents. This role involves creating documentation for software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user guides. The Technical Writer will be responsible for writing and editing technical documentation for all project hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and how-to guides. They will also create code documentation, implementation guides, end-user guides, and field, data definition, and data flow documentation. The position requires formatting technical publications from various sources and consulting with technical personnel. The role includes assisting in the preparation and maintenance of operations documentation, user guides, manuals, and technical publications, gathering technical information, and maintaining a current internal documentation library. The Technical Writer will utilize multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio. They will work with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials, participate in all phases of documentation, and prepare reports, responses, and briefings for diverse audiences. This includes coordinating the layout and design of documents, researching highly technical subject matter, organizing information from multiple sources, and expressing technical information in a comprehensible written format.

Requirements

  • A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required.
  • Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a technical writer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Associate’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Two (2) years of additional TW experience may be substituted for an Associate’s degree.
  • Understand basic concepts (to include basic grammar concepts), responsible for writing technical copy for various types of documents.
  • Understand basic concepts and write technical copy for various types of documents for a program/project of similar complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
  • Write and edit technical documentation for all of the project’s hardware and software to include installation, configuration and how-to documentation.
  • Create code documentation for software; produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities; provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation.
  • Format technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications.
  • Gather technical information and prepare written text.
  • Maintain a current internal documentation library.
  • Use multiple word processing and presentation tools such as MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio etc.
