About The Position

Dragonfli Group is seeking a Technical Writer to support a multi-year business continuity, emergency management, and cybersecurity engagement for a large commercial enterprise. In this role, you will work closely with subject matter experts, planners, emergency managers, and project teams to develop, edit, format, and maintain continuity plans, emergency operations documentation, cybersecurity and physical security materials, and incident response documentation. You will transform complex technical and regulatory input into clear, accurate, and actionable deliverables, including plans, procedures, job aids, exercise products, After-Action Reports, and executive-level briefings that support operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and organizational resilience. This posting spans the full career spectrum, from early-career technical writers (approximately zero to three years of experience) through senior-level professionals (five or more years of experience). Level of responsibility and compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's demonstrated experience. This is a contract position involving a large commercial enterprise in the energy sector. Candidates with previous consulting or contracting experience are preferred. U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required. If hired, all work related to this role must be performed within the continental U.S.

Requirements

  • Relevant technical writing experience aligned to this posting's experience bands (this posting spans up to three years for early-career candidates through five or more years for senior-level candidates)
  • Demonstrated ability to translate subject matter expert and technical input into clear plans, procedures, and job aids
  • Experience producing After-Action Reports or similar exercise documentation
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office and other standard document-production tools
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
  • Ability to work within the continental U.S. for the duration of the engagement

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience documenting business continuity, emergency management, cybersecurity, or physical security content
  • Prior utility, critical-infrastructure, or energy-sector experience
  • Familiarity with HSEEP-style After-Action Report formatting and exercise documentation conventions
  • Prior consulting or contracting background

Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, format, and maintain business continuity plans (BCPs/BCRPs), business impact analyses, and related continuity documentation
  • Draft and maintain emergency operations plans, incident response plans, and mutual aid agreement documentation
  • Produce cybersecurity and physical security job aids, post orders, policies, and procedural documentation
  • Author After-Action Reports and other exercise products following industry-standard exercise documentation practices
  • Translate input from subject matter experts, planners, and emergency managers into clear, accurate, and actionable written materials
  • Prepare executive-level summaries and briefing materials derived from technical source content
  • Maintain document version control, formatting standards, and consistency across a large body of deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to meet documentation timelines and quality standards
