About The Position

Wyetech is seeking a Technical Writer Level 2 to provide documentation, process, configuration management, and training support for the High-Capacity Sensor Operations (HCSO) Integrated Operations Center (HIOC). The Technical Writer is responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation. This position writes and edits technical documentation for project hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and how-to documentation. The Technical Writer also creates code documentation for software; produces implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities; provides field, data definition, and data flow documentation; and formats technical publications using pamphlets, technical drawings, consultations with technical personnel, and other available resources.

Requirements

  • Six (6) years of experience as a Technical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint, as well as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Ability to support HCSO/HIOC documentation, process and system documentation, configuration management, process support, and training support.
  • Ability to support HCSO business process training and foreign partner system training courses.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and a position-appropriate security clearance are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Four (4) years of additional Technical Writer experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides, manuals, and technical publications.
  • Gather technical information and prepare clear, accurate written content.
  • Maintain a current internal documentation library.
  • Use multiple word processing and presentation tools, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and related applications.
  • Prepare and maintain operations documentation, user guides, manuals, and technical publications.
  • Work with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials.
  • Support all phases of the documentation lifecycle.
  • Write technical copy for programs and projects of similar complexity.
  • Prepare reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences.
  • Coordinate the layout and design of documents.
  • Research highly technical subject matter, organize information from multiple sources, and communicate technical information in a form that is understandable to a broad audience.
  • Under general direction, write technical copy for various types of documents supporting programs/projects of similar complexity.
  • Apply technical writing concepts using engineering drawings, engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources.
  • Produce defense acquisition documentation, user manuals, training manuals, and other documentation utilized by the end-user community of DoD electronic equipment and systems.
  • Interpret engineering and maintenance drawings and operational procedures to understand and synthesize large quantities of computer-related information.
  • Produce technical documentation for Cryptologic programs or projects developing analytic tradecraft methodologies.
  • Apply technical manual standard NSA DS-89 to work products.
