About The Position

RiverTech is looking for a Technical Writer to join our team! You will draft, incorporate, edit, review, and publish approved Satellite Control Network (SCN) Technical Order (TO) Changes to the baseline in support of the operations and maintenance personnel performing the SCN mission. Within the realm of a DoD contract and military standard (MIL-STD) guidelines, you will communicate and coordinate with DSLM project managers, configuration and data managers, engineers, logisticians, drafters, and Government customers to efficiently develop and maintain technical documentation and contractual deliverables. The ideal candidate will need to be adaptable in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and be able to balance and organize projects that span several stages of development.

Requirements

  • US Citizen with eligibility to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Writing or technical field or equivalent on-the-job documentation experience.
  • 3-5 years technical or procedural writing experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Air Force Technical Orders.
  • Familiarity of the Satellite Control Network (SCN).
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of TM-86-01 and TO-00-5-1.
  • Experience with Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) and Arbortext editor.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, incorporate, edit, review, and publish approved Satellite Control Network (SCN) Technical Order (TO) Changes to the baseline in support of the operations and maintenance personnel performing the SCN mission.
  • Communicate and coordinate with DSLM project managers, configuration and data managers, engineers, logisticians, drafters, and Government customers to efficiently develop and maintain technical documentation and contractual deliverables.
  • Adapt in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and balance and organize projects that span several stages of development.
  • Works independently with general supervision.
  • Responsible for adjusting or recommended enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of job area.
  • Addresses somewhat complex technical issues/problems that require a depth of technical job knowledge from other areas.
  • Communicate with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring some explanation or interpretation to reach agreement.
  • May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.
