About The Position

Resource Management Concepts, Inc. (RMC) is seeking a Technical Writer/Editor Level 1 to provide on-site support for their customer in Indian Head, MD (Stump Neck). The role involves preparing and performing editorial and quality assurance for various technical documents including 60 series publications, identification guides, preliminary employment manuals, specifications, technical reports, and training materials, ensuring adherence to government specifications. The position requires close coordination with Subject Matter Experts and other teams, meticulous attention to detail in editing and formatting, and the ability to manage and update bibliographic and visual information.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree AS/AA in a technical, writing, or other English language discipline.
  • At least one (1) year of technical writing/editing experience.
  • An active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that technical and visual information (graphics, tables, videos, thumbnails, and super thumbnails) adheres to and conforms to established writing, editing, and formatting standards.
  • Coordinate and communicate frequently with the EOD Subject Matter Experts.
  • Search various databases, websites, and repositories.
  • Donate material into EOD Library and image databases as required.
  • Send requests using workflow software to various teams and coworkers.
  • Research applicable source data.
  • Populate all required data fields with accurate information.
  • Create, maintain, and update bibliographic material for 60-series publications.
  • Create rough drafts of visual images to communicate desired visual information produced by other Imaging and Graphics experts.
  • Create tables in MS Word or Excel and save them in the shared drive; communicate the desired outcome with the Graphics Team.
  • Create figure and table titles that comply with standards.
  • Resolve any issues, address any fact comments, return reasons, or email inquiries directly and promptly with Subject Matter Experts, Imaging, Graphics, and Security Specialists.
  • Eliminate to the greatest extent possible any typographical errors, grammatical errors, misspellings, and follow proper sentence structure.
  • Ensure measurements, callouts, and titles in visual information match the Subject information.
  • Ensure hyperlinks are linked to the correct material.
