About The Position

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a Technical Writer Level 2 to support the development, maintenance, and delivery of technical documentation for complex software and systems engineering programs. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can translate technical concepts into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Six (6) years of experience as a Technical Writer supporting programs or contracts of similar scope, complexity, and mission.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Four (4) additional years of Technical Writer experience may be substituted for the degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
  • DOD 8570 Certification
  • This position requires an active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience creating and editing technical documentation within software, systems engineering, or IT environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using SharePoint, Jira, and Confluence for documentation, collaboration, and knowledge management.
  • Strong written communication, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documentation supporting software engineering, systems operations, testing, and end-user activities.
  • Develop installation guides, configuration procedures, implementation guides, user manuals, and how-to documentation for hardware and software systems.
  • Create and maintain software code documentation, technical publications, data flow diagrams, field definitions, and system process documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, developers, system administrators, and subject matter experts to gather technical information and translate it into clear, organized documentation.
  • Support configuration management activities, process improvement initiatives, system documentation efforts, and knowledge management programs.
  • Develop training materials, business process documentation, and technical training content to support operational and user communities.
