About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Technical Training Specialist. This role is located at our Waukesha, WI facility. The primary function of the Technical Training Specialist is to be a skilled technical communicator who manages the purchased customer visits for audits, inspections and test witnesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, OR a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical field.
  • Knowledge of electric power distribution transformers and their components and accessories
  • Knowledge of typical applications, equipment, systems and standards for electric power distribution transformers
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and work to deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), SAP or other ERP related system and the ability to utilize such tools to analyze data and solve routine problems

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Two (2) years of product, customer service, inside sales, or proposals experience in a technical field.
  • One (1) year of experience using ERP and quotation systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, delivery, and maintenance of training content (onboarding, job aids, videos, electronic documentation) to build organizational capability and ensure ISO and industry standard compliance.
  • Conduct training sessions, audits, and validation activities to ensure accuracy and alignment with internal procedures and standards (ISO 9001/14001, ANSI, IEEE, CSA, NEMA).
  • Process and validate customer orders, ensuring alignment between purchase orders, proposals, and specifications; resolve discrepancies and prepare accurate documentation for engineering and manufacturing.
  • Execute formal order change, hold, and cancellation processes, communicating impacts across all affected functions.
  • Approve and negotiate pricing within guidelines, applying market intelligence to support win strategies and margin goals.
  • Provide technical product and application support to customers, agents, and internal teams, serving as a cross‑functional liaison.
  • Support quotation and ERP systems through training, testing, feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with Sales and IT.
  • Engage directly with customers through site visits, plant tours, and Customer Service Center interactions, representing the business with strong technical expertise.
  • Manage strategic customer and agent accounts, identify operational and improvement opportunities, and support product growth strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement across training, proposals, order management, and cross‑functional workflows.
  • Independently coordinate transformer orders from receipt through delivery, resolving technical, scheduling, and customer-driven issues to ensure successful execution.
