About The Position

Within Operational Training, the Special Projects Operational Training (SPOT) Team is a dynamic team of training professionals working in a fast-paced environment creating training solutions for PSE employees in conjunction with PSE’s portfolio of capital projects. In this position, you will serve as a Technical Training Program Manager (TTPM) for one or more capital projects simultaneously. TTPMs lead the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of enterprise-wide learning solutions at PSE. A successful candidate will have significant experience developing training programs for end user groups with highly technical and diverse training needs. TTPMs partner with Organizational Change Management and Process teams as well as with business unit stakeholders (managers, supervisors, and subject matter experts) to define the training needs of each department affected by new capital implementations. Leveraging subject matter expertise, TTPMs design training solutions that will meet the needs of the business. TTPMs then manage the development and delivery of such solutions, overseeing a team of internal and contract instructional designers collaborating with SMEs and project team members on training solutions. All PSE employees are expected to uphold the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities and promote and support a culture of total safety. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of training and development, Operations, IT, or Engineering experience; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Recognized as an expert in the specialty or craft by the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and cultivate strong working relationships.
  • Proficient with suite of word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Demonstrated organization, prioritization, and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical, presentation, communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage projects, work with other departmental teams and deliver on commitments.
  • Ability to contribute effectively in peer management teams.
  • Skills and experience in collaboration and team building.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing/translating highly technical field/systems content and/or compliance content into effective learning solutions preferred.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning principles, training needs analysis, instructional design methods, professional facilitation, evaluation methods, and learning styles
  • Proven ability to monitor and evaluate a training program's effectiveness, success, and ROI and to report on them.
  • Ability to operate in a remote office with minimal supervision from corporate headquarters.
  • Working knowledge of structure and operations of PSE or other highly regulated and technical industry.
  • Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) to manage training data and reporting functionality.
  • Working knowledge of business applications and software tools (e.g., SAP, Webex, Work Manager).
  • Experience collaborating with both union-represented and non-represented employees.

Responsibilities

  • Develop highly technical training programs bound by complex compliance, IT, operations, and/or safety requirements within the ADDIE framework.
  • Engage with stakeholders, evaluate business problems, and conduct needs assessments
  • Prioritize program roadmaps to manage multiple programs concurrently.
  • Create and manage the communication strategy for promoting and reporting program/project strategy, priorities, risks, and status of the programs/project.
  • Manage and maintain vendor partners, delivery media, and eLearning applications for scale and ease.
  • Manage training content/updates on SharePoint, LMS, and shared drives.
  • Equip and mentor contract or corporate subject matter experts to deliver training.
  • Deliver instructor-led training as needed
  • Develop training solutions that are supported by data and objective reasoning.
  • Partner with OCM and process teams to build training and development programs that will meet the business' needs, produce the intended result and improve business performance.
  • Learn and demonstrate an understanding of PSE's business and the market in which it operates.
  • Learn and demonstrate an understanding of the mission and goals of PSE, Operational Training, and your clients.
  • Communicate frequently with internal clients and stakeholders.
  • Align the goals of Operational Training with those of clients.
  • Understand the impact Operational Training has on the goals of PSE and stakeholders; report the performance of your program.
  • Be fiscally responsible and budget conscious.
  • Use technology effectively.
