$88,000 - $115,000Onsite

About The Position

The Technical Training Manager leads Aramark Refreshments' newly established Service Technician Training Center in Philadelphia (West Deptford, NJ), serving as the national owner of technical curriculum, certification standards, and hands-on training delivery for the company's approximately 420-person service technician workforce. This role builds and sustains a scalable, standardized training model spanning core equipment, vending, plumbing, electrical, installation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting, improving first-time-fix rate, technician retention, equipment uptime, and customer satisfaction. The Technical Training Manager partners closely with Operational Excellence leadership, equipment innovation and training standards teams, and field operations to translate training outcomes into consistent field performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent trade certification and technical field experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5–8 years of technical field service, equipment maintenance, or related trade experience, preferably within a route-based, food service equipment, or vending/refreshment services environment.
  • Certified or credentialed in one or more relevant trades (e.g., refrigeration/HVAC, plumbing, electrical) required.
  • Hands-on experience with major OEM equipment vendors relevant to the refreshment services industry (e.g., Cornelius, Bunn, Manitowoc, Follett) strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience designing or delivering technical training curriculum, certification programs, or train-the-trainer content preferred.
  • Experience developing or supporting digital training content (instructional video, LMS) a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10% of the time for vendor engagement, equipment sourcing, and market cohort support.
  • Strong organizational and program management skills, with the ability to run recurring, structured training cohorts on schedule.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across field operations, vendors, and OpX leadership.
  • Ability to build and manage clear feedback loops connecting field escalations to training and certification content.

Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously evolve the technical training curriculum, covering core equipment, vending, plumbing, electrical, installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair-vs-replace decisions, and customer service/soft skills.
  • Design, schedule, and deliver recurring monthly hands-on training cohorts (3–5 technicians per rotating session) at the Philadelphia Service Technician Training Center, prioritizing new-hire onboarding and tenured technician upskilling.
  • Partner with equipment vendors to secure certification agendas, technical training content, and equipment access; own and track completion of vendor-led certification programs.
  • Develop and maintain digital training content, including instructional video and LMS modules, to scale training capacity and support recurring refresh and recertification.
  • Define and manage field escalation protocols — establishing clear criteria for when technicians and Service Managers engage the Technical Training Manager for support — and convert those interactions into feedback loops that improve training materials, vendor relationships, and equipment standards.
  • Partner with the VP, Operational Excellence to provide input into innovation testing and equipment readiness, and collaborate with the Training Standards & Process team to align curriculum with company-wide service standards.
  • Track and report key training and service performance measures, including certification completion, first-time-fix rate, repeat call rate, equipment uptime, and technician retention.
  • Partner with HR to help translate certification achievement into the technician pay progression framework (FY28).
  • Maintain the Philadelphia training facility, including equipment staging, tools, safety standards, and video recording capability.
  • Support cohort planning and technician travel prioritization across new hires, tenured refresh, and lead technician trainers to maximize training throughput.
