About The Position

The Technical Team Leader will oversee the work and maintenance and execute the production planning schedule for their assigned area in DWI and/or 3 Piece. They will be responsible for the success of the equipment in their assigned department. The position is responsible for maintaining optimum levels of production efficiency, spoilage and quality levels while working in a safe manner and complying with all Safety and Quality procedures. They will also be responsible for the training of all Technicians within their assigned area. The Technical Team Leader will also be responsible for shift operations during times of Operations Team Lead absences with the support of their department Technical Manager.

Requirements

Shall be competent and shall have appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.
They shall be fully conversant in Food Safety Policy, GMP’s, HACCP Principle and Food Safety Standard and Application.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily/department Safety checks to ensure safe work habits exist and correct hazards while leading by example.
Plan and coordinate “changeovers” and production line maintenance events.
Ensure optimal production equipment operation through guidance and training.
Ensure production and quality assurance checks and documentation.
Partner with OTLs, Technical Managers, Electro-mechanic Technicians and Electronic Specialists to ensure proper facilitation of Machinery maintenance, upgrades, and installation of new equipment.
Be the operational liaison for all trial runs (SMA’s).
Ensure departmental 5S/Housekeeping protocols are met.
Work with site Greenbelts and CI Champions in facilitating LSS (Lean Six Sigma) Projects.
Back up key OTL responsibilities including shift change meetings, production reporting, safety and emergency protocols and other operational specific duties to be able to cover shift in the absence of an OTL with Technical Manager support when needed.
Be available for call-outs in cases of emergencies and breakdowns.
All other duties as assigned by Management.
