About The Position

This role provides support to inspectors to ensure smooth project operations. Responsibilities include assisting with project paperwork, conducting field observations, reporting findings, following up with contractors, corresponding with project personnel, and performing miscellaneous tasks. A foundational understanding of construction is required for Level 1, with increasing knowledge expected for Levels 2 and 3, aiming for a level comparable to a Construction Inspector I for Level 3. Additionally, staff may be assigned to underground crews for storm drain inspections, including research and documentation of illicit connections, or work in an office setting performing data entry, processing permit applications, and providing customer service.

Requirements

Basic level of construction knowledge is needed at the entry level position (Level 1).
Increased understanding of construction knowledge is expected at higher Technical Support Levels.
Technical Support Staff at Level 3 should have close to a Construction Inspector's I level of knowledge of construction.

Responsibilities

Act in a supporting role to aid inspector(s) in completing project tasks.
Assist with project paperwork.
Assist with inspections.
Perform observations in the field on behalf of the inspector.
Report back to the inspector.
Follow up on paperwork and other items with the contractor.
Correspond with various personnel involved on the project.
Perform miscellaneous tasks as necessary.
Work in an underground crew to assist performing underground inspections of storm drains.
Research and document illicit connections.
Work in an office performing data entry.
Review and process permit applications.
Provide customer service.
