About The Position

This role is for a Technical Support Specialist who will handle high-level technical inquiries requiring hands-on interaction with physical inventory. The specialist will bridge the gap between the company's digital presence and its physical products, serving as a technical resource for both customers and the sales team. Key responsibilities include conducting technical deep-dives, performing quality control inspections on incoming inventory, inspecting returned parts, taking precise measurements of parts, and contributing to an internal knowledge base.

Requirements

  • Must have personally completed at least one major restoration project on a vintage car (frame-off, engine-out experience).
  • Understanding of the quirks of vintage automotive engineering.
  • Typing 60+ WPM.
  • Extremely comfortable communicating via email and fast-paced chat environments.
  • Ability to translate complex mechanical concepts into clear, concise written instructions for customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

  • Answer complex customer inquiries regarding installation challenges, specific part dimensions, and fitment nuances.
  • Inspect incoming inventory to ensure it meets strict standards before it hits the shelves.
  • Inspect returned parts to determine if they were installed, damaged, or are eligible for restocking.
  • Pull parts from the warehouse to get exact measurements (using calipers, micrometers, etc.) to satisfy specific customer "build" requirements.
  • Serve as a technical resource for the sales team to help them close difficult sales with 100% accuracy.
