About The Position

This role is for a Technical Support Specialist at Vintage Automotive Parts. The specialist will handle high-level technical inquiries that require hands-on interaction with physical inventory, bridging the gap between the company's digital presence and its physical products. The role involves answering complex customer inquiries, inspecting incoming inventory and returned parts, performing precision measurements on parts, and serving as a technical resource for the sales team.

Requirements

  • Must have personally completed at least one major restoration project on a vintage car (frame-off, engine-out experience).
  • Understanding of the quirks of vintage automotive engineering.
  • Typing 60+ WPM.
  • Extremely comfortable communicating via email and fast-paced chat environments.
  • Ability to translate complex mechanical concepts into clear, concise written instructions for customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

  • Answer complex customer inquiries regarding installation challenges, specific part dimensions, and fitment nuances.
  • Inspect incoming inventory to ensure it meets strict standards before it hits the shelves.
  • Inspect returned parts to determine if they were installed, damaged, or are eligible for restocking.
  • Pull parts from the warehouse to get exact measurements (using calipers, micrometers, etc.) to satisfy specific customer "build" requirements.
  • Serve as a technical resource for the sales team to help them close difficult sales with 100% accuracy.
