About The Position
The Technical Support Specialist maintains, deploys and ensures the technical readiness of mudlogging equipment and units across active rig sites. Based at the operations base, the specialist keeps equipment fit for purpose and serves as the country technical reference for gas detection and data acquisition equipment for Geolog field personnel and clients.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, calibrate and repair gas detection and data acquisition equipment.
- Prepare, commission and conduct multi-day testing of mudlogging units before deployment to rigs.
- Provide technical support to field crews during rig-ups, rig-downs and operations, escalating issues to HQ technical support when needed.
- Manage spare parts, consumables and calibration gas stock, asset tracking and purchasing.
- Conduct rig visits, gas detection chain inspections, service quality checks and HSE/QA/QC audits.
- Coordinate equipment logistics, including shipments, customs paperwork and freight.
- Prepare failure reports and technical documentation, and train field personnel on gas detection and data acquisition systems.
- Provide base IT support in coordination with the HQ IT department.
