About The Position

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Technical Support Hardware Specialist to support its Engineering and Manufacturing teams. This role serves as a liaison between design and production, ensuring the availability of necessary components and managing the long-term integrity of product builds. The position reports to the Director of Hardware Engineering Operations and is based 100% onsite at the company's headquarters in West Los Angeles, CA, from Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with 1+ year of relevant experience in a technical administrative or procurement role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic components (resistors, ICs, PCBs) and mechanical hardware is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional ability to manage multiple tracking sheets and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with ERP/PLM software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
  • Knowledge of component lifecycle management and supply chain considerations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
  • Successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Engineering teams with the identification, selection, and procurement of electronic and mechanical components.
  • Coordinate with vendors to source parts that meet specific technical requirements and project timelines.
  • Monitor component lifecycle events (such as End-of-Life or Product Change Notifications) in partnership with Engineering and Manufacturing to proactively track changes and prevent supply chain disruptions.
  • Drive the execution of component qualification plans, including organizing documentation, tracking testing progress, and ensuring alternative or new parts meet quality and functional standards before integration into production.
  • Maintain accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) records and manage technical documentation within PLM/ERP systems.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for suppliers to request quotes, lead times, and technical datasheets.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
