Technical Support Engineer
About The Position
The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts. This role is responsible for responding to ongoing technical issues of KLA equipment where field product support teams were unable to solve. The engineer will assist field engineers in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and debugging sophisticated optical/electro/mechanical equipment, computer systems, coupled with software solutions. Working on challenging problems requires in-depth system knowledge and a sound understanding of operating principles. The engineer will exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, and techniques for achieving results. They will collaborate with specialists and other teams to craft an optimized plan of action to resolve the technical issues and recover equipment functionality to customer satisfaction. Travel within the region and worldwide to support escalated issues on-site on short notice is required. The role also involves creating document content relative to troubleshooting processes, technical findings, and providing service and postmortem reports. May be involved in tool installation, relocation, and upgrade of equipment. Provide Technical Training.
Requirements
- Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years
- Must be able to travel 40-70% domestic and internationally
Nice To Haves
- Electrical and Mechanical experience
- Optical experience preferred
