Division: Measurement & Controls Department: Inside Sales Reports to: Inside Sales Manager Travel: Infrequent (up to 10%) About the Role We’re looking for an Inside Sales Engineer who enjoys fast-paced customer interaction and thrives in a high-volume, phone-based environment. In this role, you’ll work directly with the regional sales team to support growth by developing existing accounts, qualifying new opportunities, and serving as a technical consultant for customers and internal partners. You’ll be the person who can connect the dots between what a customer needs and the right product/application solution—while keeping leads moving through the funnel with disciplined follow-up, strong CRM habits, and confident communication.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering preferred.
  • Previous experience in an outbound call center, inside sales, or a related sales environment is preferred.
  • Strong phone presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor; comfortable building rapport quickly.
  • Strong problem identification and objection-handling skills; confident guiding conversations toward next steps.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a high-activity environment.
  • Motivated by growth—eager to expand business through new sales, clients, and territory development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Qualification & Inside Sales Execution: Follow up on inbound leads and generate new opportunities through outbound calls and emails to convert interest into sales.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements, ask great questions, and qualify opportunities before routing them to the appropriate sales team members for closure.
  • Research accounts, identify key players, and generate interest in Yokogawa solutions.
  • Technical Sales Support (Sales Engineering): Provide application and product selection support for incoming sales leads and sales support channel personnel.
  • Complete or assist in creating RFQ responses and other technical-commercial documentation for prospective customers.
  • Perform online product demos for prospective customers and support the sales team with technical content as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Customer Relationships: Work in a team environment to build strong relationships with Product Management, Marketing, Sales Channel partners, and Order Management to move opportunities forward.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with customers to encourage trust, loyalty, and repeat business.
  • CRM & Operational Discipline: Manage, maintain, and document all incoming sales leads and activities in CRM to ensure visibility, accuracy, and strong handoffs.
  • Support marketing efforts (as needed) including trade shows, exhibits, and events; attend periodic sales training.
