About The Position

As a Technical Specialist, you will provide leadership in technical and design services for renewable DER (distributed energy resources) projects, ranging from large-scale commercial to utility-scale. You will collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary cross-engineering team, including mechanical, structural, survey, and civil disciplines. Your role will involve overseeing designs and drawings, and actively participating in steady-state and dynamic power studies and models.

Requirements

6+ years of experience in electrical power systems.
B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
Experience using Autocad and/or Revit software.
Experience with steady-state and dynamic power analyses (ETAP and potentially OpenDSS, PSCAD, and PSS/E).
Experience with NEC, NESC, and IEEE codes and standards.
Willing communicator and able to ask questions when necessary.
Enjoys working alone when required but can work effectively on a project team.
Able to complete work consistently with flexibility to accommodate varying project demands.
Must maintain a high level of precision and accuracy and be methodical in approach to work; you appreciate checklists.

Nice To Haves

Experience with MV and substation interconnection/protection is welcome.
PE license welcome.
NABCEP certification is welcome.

Responsibilities

Act as a technical expert and lead for distributed energy resource (DER) projects connecting at both distribution and transmission for utility-scale projects varying in size up to 1000 MW-ac / 2000 MWh-dc.
Manage projects encompassing both solar PV and BESS (battery energy storage systems).
Oversee Commercial and Industrial (C&I) projects, which will be both behind the meter and in front of the meter, varying in size from 100 kW-ac to 10 MW-ac.
Collaborate with the full team to ensure civil, survey, structural, mechanical, electrical/MV designs and studies are addressed.
