About The Position

Under the supervision of the Manager, Post Analytical Lab, provides technical expertise and acts as resource for entire laboratory in specialty area. Responsible for reviewing of test results and functions as a specialist in a Laboratory Medicine discipline, e.g. send outs, toxicology testing, point of care testing, coagulation, etc. Responsible for QC, training, updating Quality Control summaries, and writing and revising procedures. Collaborates with managers, supervisors, pathologists, supervisors, nursing service and the laboratory director on laboratory issues regarding patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health science program or medical technology (employees hired prior to 1/1/09 were grandfathered into this position).
  • Qualification as an ASCP, AMT, NCA, or an equivalent medical technologist.
  • Current technologist license.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the specialty area of the clinical laboratory.

  • Supervisor licensure under Chapter 483, Part IV, Florida Statute 61F-5.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and listening skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities at once.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment and problems as they arise in the section.
