About The Position

GAI Consultants, Inc is seeking an Traffic Specialist to work within our Transportation & Infrastructure Business Unit. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will utilize their college education and related work experience to develop professionally into a well-rounded engineer with the ability to grow in today's global environment. It is anticipated that the candidate will successfully complete the FE examination in the near future, with an increase in responsibility. Office locations include Cranberry Township, Homestead, Cannonsburg, or Philadelphia, PA. Hybrid or remote work is available with residency required in the Commonwealth of PA. A successful candidate outside of PA must be willing to relocate. Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience with PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.
  • Transportation design including traffic design analysis and roadway design.
  • Preparation of reports, maps, drawings, bid documents, and project plans
  • Proficient in Synchro and/or HCS software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • B.S. Engineering or other technical degree
  • 2+ Years of Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledgeable in MicroStation with the familiarity of roadway design software such as OpenRoads Designer is desired.
  • It is anticipated that the candidate will successfully complete the FE examination in the near future, with an increase in responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic design tasks.
  • Assists on tasks such as: field activities, material testing, CADD work, permit applications, and report writing.
  • Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.
  • No managerial responsibilities at this level.
  • Receives close supervision on most aspects of assignments, particularly on difficult problems, and a general review of all aspects of work.
  • Attains mentored experience from a licensed engineer.
  • Possesses basic oral and written communication skills.
  • Practices professionalism and respectful inclusion in the workplace.
  • Engages in few project stakeholder interactions.
