About The Position

As the need for nuclear energy grows, Framatome is seeking experienced metrology technicians to support field and office activities working out of the Mill Ridge office located in Lynchburg, Va. This role is critical for shaping the future of clean energy and making a long-lasting global impact by delivering innovative solutions and value-added technologies that help power over 38 million North American homes. Experienced metrology technicians would plan and execute field assignments, working in a team environment as the working project task lead to oversee and ensure project execution, provide solutions to customer project concerns, create measurement plans, and generate reports. This work requires travel to customer’s sites within the continental US with potential for travel abroad. The Framatome Metrology team supports a wide range of critical functions within the nuclear industry, including precision component installation and alignment, pipe fabrication and installation verification, load-path analysis, and interference detection and resolution. These activities are executed using advanced metrology technologies and industry-standard tools, including photogrammetry, laser trackers, total stations, large-volume scanning systems, and small-area scanners. Team members will leverage specialized software platforms such as SpatialAnalyzer, Geomagic, MicroStation, and Leica Cyclone to perform high-accuracy measurement, modeling, and analysis.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience with photogrammetry, laser tracker, total station, and Spatial Analyzer
  • Good communication skills to comprehend, follow direction and convey detailed technical data
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Good problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking
  • Ability to travel to customer’s sites within the continental US with potential for travel abroad
