Intertek is seeking a Technical Specialist to join their Calibration & Design team in Cortland, New York. This role offers a career opportunity in performing/facilitating Calibration, Design, and Quality for customers. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in the sciences, or the equivalent in terms of education, experience and/or training
No experience required - recent college grads considered
Valid unrestricted driver’s license and reliable driving record
Microsoft Office expertise
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organization and time management skills
Excellent customer service skills
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
Ability to travel as business needs dictate (up to 25%)

Ability to use mechanical and electrical tools and instrumentation necessary to complete the tasks outlined above

Responsibilities

Perform calibration, diagnostic and preventative maintenance on instrumentation and/or equipment.
Coordinate the repair of instrumentation and calibration of equipment with 3rd Party Vendors.
Ensure timely turn-around time on all instrumentation and equipment calibration services.
Conduct equipment review following the return of calibrated equipment.
Maintain accurate calibration records.
Maintain instrumentation and/or equipment list(s).
Ensure that preventative maintenance of equipment is performed in a timely and effective manner.
Review all calibration documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Create or maintain Calibration Certificates.
Perform or assist in performing suspect equipment investigations.
May Assist with writing and/or updating procedures to ensure efficiency, standardization, and accuracy.
Assist & Support the Design Services Engineers in any capacity that is needed.
Perform other work as required.
