About The Position

Scotiabank’s Global Technology Services (GTS) Service Assets & Configuration Management department is responsible for the management of the Bank’s hardware IT assets throughout their lifecycle from acquisition to retirement. We are also responsible for the creation of standard IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes and oversight for adherence to the processes from our global partners. Reporting directly to a Senior Manager, you will play a critical part in managing data from Canada \ Latin America \ Asia Pacific \ London \ New York and Mexico operations. You will also support multiple simultaneous project initiatives.

Requirements

  • Good communication (verbal/written) and good interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external business partners and vendors.
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on working experience in data reporting with ServiceNow® CMDB, Asset Management & Service Catalogue.
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on working experience in data reporting with ServiceNow® Incident/Problem/Change Management modules.
  • At least 5+ years of working experience in performing audits of hardware, configuration items, as needed to maintain accuracy within the CMDB.
  • Demonstrated working experience in monitoring and managing expectations to CMDB policies.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and excellent attention to detail skills.
  • Strong understanding of networking and infrastructure, which includes servers, networking, databases, and cloud services.
  • Expert level in the use of MS Excel to create/maintain macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP & formulas.
  • Post secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering or in a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on technical working experience with SQL, Python, Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Managing Discovery & Configuration Management Database (CMDB) in ServiceNow®.
  • Maintaining information about IT hardware & software assets, in order to report on the value and ownership of financial assets throughout their lifecycle, and to determine key attributes and relationships between assets.
  • Assisting in conducting configuration audits and coordinate with Technical Service Owners to correct issues and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Working with Technical Service Owners and Subject Matter Experts to build relationships between assets and ensure the accuracy of the Configuration Items (CIs) within the CMDB.
  • Assisting the Configuration Management team to prepare the Configuration management plan.
  • Collaborating with IT Owners and Change Management in the assessment of what CIs are impacted by a Change to a service.
