About The Position

GAI is seeking a Technical Specialist 1 to join our Transmission and Distribution Power Delivery team. This role requires critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, and a team focus, with an eagerness to apply learned engineering principles to solve real-life problems. The position offers work-life balance and flexibility, with the option for hybrid work at our Orlando, FL office. The specialist will complete day-to-day project tasks for successful project delivery, which may include preparing specification packages, structural and fabrication drawings, and performing design and analysis of transmission and distribution lines and foundations using specialized software. The role also involves electrical clearance checks, permit coordination, and applying engineering principles to power delivery projects, requiring attention to detail and excellent communication skills. This position performs routine technical work under close supervision, gaining mentored experience from a licensed engineer.

Responsibilities

Complete day-to-day project tasks as required for successful project delivery.
Preparation of Specification Packages
Preparation of Structural and Fabrication Drawings
Design and Analysis of Transmission and Distribution Lines using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-Tower, or other power delivery analysis software
Design and Analysis of foundations.
Analysis of existing and proposed structures with regard to Client and Other required codes, standards, and specifications.
Performance of Electrical Clearance checks and calculations.
Coordination and development of permits for Railroads, Roadways, and Environmental Crossings.
Apply engineering principles to assist in the design of Power Delivery Projects.
Perform complex tasks typically following established processes.
Collects data and gathers information or documents.
Participates in laboratory testing and field investigations.
Performs basic computations or analysis.
Assists with preparation of engineering deliverables.
Observes construction activities.
Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope.
