About The Position

GAI is seeking a Technical Specialist 1 to join its Power Generation team. This hybrid position assists engineers and project managers with power generation designs. The role applies engineering principles to real-world projects and performs routine technical work, typically following established processes and without requiring previous experience. The specialist receives close supervision and mentored experience from a licensed engineer, and interacts primarily with internal project team members. The position has no managerial responsibilities.

Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering or another technical degree.
• 0 or more years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete day-to-day project tasks needed for successful project delivery, including preparing specification packages and structural and fabrication drawings.
• Design and analyze foundations.
• Analyze existing and proposed structures against client requirements and applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
• Perform electrical clearance checks and calculations.
• Coordinate and develop permits for railroad, roadway, and environmental crossings.
• Apply engineering principles to assist with power generation project design.
• Collect data and gather information or documents.
• Participate in laboratory testing and field investigations.
• Perform basic computations or analysis.
• Assist with preparing engineering deliverables.
• Observe construction activities.
• Manage personal tasks and adhere to deadlines and scope.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and comply with ethical codes.
