About The Position

SandboxAQ is seeking a third Technical Sourcer to join its small and mighty Talent team. This role will be a strategic talent scout for the company's highest priority hiring needs, partnering with leaders to help them achieve their goals and directly impact SandboxAQ’s Mission through the hires created. The position operates at the intersection of cutting-edge science and advanced AI, involving complex talent puzzles. The team is described as close-knit, highly collaborative, and fun, working hard without taking themselves too seriously. The Technical Sourcer will own the top-of-funnel strategy for critical, high-impact roles, offering true autonomy and impact. The role provides uncapped learning by partnering with brilliant minds in quantum physics, AI, and biotechnology, and involves complex problem-solving by specializing in mapping specialized markets and developing outreach initiatives to identify and activate exceptional talent.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive talent sourcing or full-cycle recruiting experience within fast-paced technology companies or specialized search firms.
  • 4+ years of dedicated experience hunting for Frontier Technology profiles (e.g., AI/ML researchers, quantum scientists, advanced cryptography experts, or deep tech engineers).
  • Proven track record of "1:1" niche hiring: Experience finding the "needle in a haystack" for bespoke, non-pipeline, and highly specialized positions.
  • Exceptional ability to build comprehensive market maps, utilize Boolean logic, and leverage alternative sourcing channels.
  • Experience partnering directly with technical executives, general managers and rigorous engineering leaders, demonstrating the knowledge and confidence to push back and guide talent strategy.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience navigating both the structured environment of "Big Tech" and the high-velocity, ambiguous landscape of venture-backed startups.
  • A demonstrated history within specialized search firms or internal talent teams targeting technical leadership roles at the Director+ level.
  • Experience leveraging next-generation sourcing and recruiting tooling outside of LinkedIn (e.g., Ashby, Metaview, Juicebox, GitHub, or specialized AI sourcing tech).

Responsibilities

  • Architect and execute sophisticated sourcing strategies to identify and engage top-tier passive talent across AI, quantum computing, cybersecurity, and life sciences.
  • Serve as a compelling storyteller, successfully articulating the company's complex technical vision, culture, and long-term trajectory to high-caliber candidates.
  • Build deep, trust-based partnerships with demanding hiring managers and executive stakeholders, acting as a peer and consultant, managing expectations through data, market realities, and calibrated talent profiles.
  • Utilize advanced open source-intelligence, academic paper tracking, conference mapping, and alternative data platforms to build comprehensive market maps of highly niche talent pools.
  • Design and maintain a seamless, high-touch candidate journey from first touchpoint onward, ensuring every candidate leaves with a stellar impression of SandboxAQ.
