About The Position

This is a part-time position that provides support to law enforcement function and the public inside the police station. The Auburn Hills Police Department (AHPD) provides the highest level of professional law enforcement services to the residents, businesses, students and visitors to the City of Auburn Hills. AHPD prides itself on a community policing oriented approach to law enforcement with personnel routinely interacting with people in the city, hosting trainings around the city and providing a wide variety of law enforcement related programs. Our mission is to continually improve the safety and quality of life within our community, through a broad base of traditional and innovative services while protecting constitutional and basic human rights. All members of this department will at all times stand accountable for their conduct.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of computers with Windows based programs and electronic data processing
• Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
• Modern filing systems
• Working knowledge of computers programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Ability to perform work requiring good physical condition
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors and the general public
• Exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record

Nice To Haves

• Minimum Associate degree in Business, Communications, Criminal Justice or closely related field or equivalent work experience.
• May be in the process of actively obtaining said requirements from an accredited college or university.
