About The Position

As a Technical Service Representative, you will serve as an onsite PPG representative, ensuring customer satisfaction with our Automotive Coatings products. You will deliver exceptional customer service with a strong focus on product expertise, continuous improvement and effective problem resolution. Specialized training will be provided for the role. This position reports to the Optima Solutions Regional Manager, and is based onsite at the Magna Mirrors location in Newaygo, MI.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of related experience working in a plant environment.
• Prior application troubleshooting experience; Experience with automotive coatings, adhesives or sealants would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Thrives in a team-based environment, partnering with others to solve challenges.
• Comfortable working in a customer production environment, around automated equipment, and be able lift ~30 lbs. on a limited basis.
• Willingness to work evening or weekend on an as needed basis.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with automotive coatings, adhesives or sealants would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer satisfaction by providing technical service/support on a wide range of products and application techniques.
• Build sales position by establishing strong customer relationships at all levels, providing resolution to customer's concerns, and quickly troubleshooting problems.
• Implement strategies to help manage customer inventory programs increase inventory turns, reduce product obsolescence, and maximize freight advantages.
• Communicate regular updates to internal PPG technical teams and account management.
• Provide resolutions to customer inquiries, application process monitoring, inventory, material ordering, and hands-on support.
• Follow safe work practices, with mechanical aptitude to explain complex ideas across technical, production and non-technical personnel to satisfy customer requirements.
• May support customer projects and assist with process improvements.
• Service other PPG automotive coatings customers in surrounding areas to support the sales and service team as needed.
