About The Position

Cogent Security is seeking a Technical Security Specialist to support the Technical Countermeasures Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) mission with a Federal Law Enforcement agency in Washington, D.C. The role involves leading and assisting with TSCM missions, including construction security, and researching, selecting, modifying, designing, maintaining, or developing technical security equipment and systems. The specialist investigates and develops advanced techniques and devices to mitigate threats, addresses conflicting security requirements, communicates technical security matters to customers and groups, and documents mission events and technical work in reports. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen with an active Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility, and must be willing to work shifts and travel as needed (0–45%).

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of relevant TSCM experience.
• Government certification in TSCM.
• Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Willingness to conduct shift work and travel as needed (0–45%).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) missions, including construction security.

• Resolve or recommend solutions to overlapping and conflicting security requirements by interpreting directives, rules, and regulations.
• Communicate orally with customers and groups about technical security-related issues.
• Write reports documenting mission events, research findings, procedures, and other technical security-related issues.
