About The Position

The Technical Sales Specialist, Managed Services plays a critical presales role in supporting the growth of our Managed Services business. Acting as a subject matter expert, this role partners closely with account executives, sales leadership, and technical teams to understand client challenges, position Presidio's Managed Services portfolio, and design tailored solutions that deliver measurable value. This individual will be instrumental in driving client conversations, performing discovery, developing proposals, and supporting the end-to-end sales process—from qualification to close. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with technical depth in managed services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent work experience and / or military experience
  • 6+ years of experience in a technical presales, sales engineering, or solutions consulting role – preferably in Managed Services or IT Services
  • Proven ability to understand customer needs and translate them into viable service solutions
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
  • Comfortable in front of both technical and business audiences
  • Experience with sales tools such as Salesforce, quoting platforms, and proposal software

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of ITIL, service delivery models, or MSP operations is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support and lead Managed Services sales opportunities in collaboration with the core sales team. Identify client needs and recommend appropriate solutions to drive revenue growth.
  • Conduct discovery sessions to understand client pain points, business drivers, and technical requirements. Build and present tailored service solutions based on client needs.
  • Provide technical training, education, and support to internal sales teams to help them effectively position Managed Services.
  • Build proposals, presentations, scopes of work, pricing models, and ROI-based business cases. Leverage inside sales and support teams to streamline administrative components.
  • Partner with architects, operations, service delivery, and solution development teams to ensure proposals align with delivery capabilities and client expectations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, client challenges, and competitive offerings to effectively position Presidio’s Managed Services portfolio.
  • Assist with building and maintaining trusted advisor relationships with clients throughout the presales cycle. Support long-term partnership development even after the initial sale.
  • Capture and relay client insights and feedback to product and operations teams to improve service offerings and customer experience.
