About The Position

The Technical Sales Specialist is responsible for sales growth of hydraulic systems and components in the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and New York. They are responsible for developing new business and supporting sales of the hydraulic product manufacturers represented by RG Group. This includes providing technical and sales support to the customer service and sales teams. The role serves as the liaison to key vendors and the development of an annual business plan for each vendor, as required.

Responsibilities

  • Execute territory sales strategies to achieve revenue and profit goals for our hydraulic and filtration product lines.
  • Identify new prospects and build partnerships across target industries (manufacturing, construction, agriculture, mining, etc.)
  • Assess customer needs, read engineered schematics, and recommend appropriate hydraulic components, filters, and fluid power systems.
  • Visit job sites and client facilities to conduct system audits, troubleshoot performance issues, and present cost-saving solutions.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including sales, customer service, engineering, purchasing, and operations, to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Serve as the POC for key vendors, driving strategic growth initiatives, product line development, joint customer engagement activities, quarterly business reviews, and performance metrics
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer files, track sales pipelines, and forecast future revenue.
  • Monitor competitor activity, track industry trends, and provide feedback to internal product teams
