The Technical Sales Specialist is responsible for sales growth of hydraulic systems and components in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, and New York. This role involves developing new business, supporting sales of hydraulic product manufacturers represented by RG Group, and providing technical and sales support to customer service and sales teams. The position also acts as a liaison to key vendors and involves developing annual business plans for each vendor. The candidate would be based in Pittsburgh or York, PA.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years’ experience in hydraulic sales

  • Certified Fluid Power Hydraulic Specialist preferred

Responsibilities

  • Execute territory sales strategies to achieve revenue and profit goals for hydraulic and filtration product lines.
  • Identify new prospects and build partnerships across target industries (manufacturing, construction, agriculture, mining, etc.).
  • Assess customer needs, read engineered schematics, and recommend appropriate hydraulic components, filters, and fluid power systems.
  • Visit job sites and client facilities to conduct system audits, troubleshoot performance issues, and present cost-saving solutions.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including sales, customer service, engineering, purchasing, and operations, to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Serve as the POC for key vendors, driving strategic growth initiatives, product line development, joint customer engagement activities, quarterly business reviews, and performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer files, track sales pipelines, and forecast future revenue.
  • Monitor competitor activity, track industry trends, and provide feedback to internal product teams.
