About The Position

We are seeking a results-driven Technical Sales Representative to expand UniPunch's customer base across the United States. This is an inside sales role focused on converting marketing-generated leads, website inquiries, customer referrals, and other inbound opportunities into new business with job shops, metal fabricators, and OEM’s. The ideal candidate combines strong sales skills with a technical understanding of metal fabrication and press tooling. You will engage prospective customers by phone and email, qualify opportunities, identify application requirements, recommend tooling solutions, and guide prospects through the sales process. Working directly with engineers, shop owners, and production managers, you will demonstrate measurable ROI and build long-term customer relationships. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, technical curiosity, responsiveness, and the ability to build credibility and trust remotely.

Requirements

  • Experience in sales, customer relationship building, and technical support.
  • Experience managing a sales funnel and moving opportunities through defined stages
  • Demonstrated success in customer retention and account growth
  • Strong communication skills, particularly over the phone and through email.
  • Ability to understand technical manufacturing applications and communicate solutions effectively.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in metal fabrication, stamping, punch tooling, turret tooling, press brake tooling, or related manufacturing industries.
  • Familiarity with reading manufacturing drawings and prints.
  • Knowledge of fabrication processes and shop operations.
  • Proven ability to convert leads into closed business.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns, website inquiries, trade shows, referrals, and other channels.
  • Contact prospective customers by phone and email to qualify opportunities and understand their manufacturing challenges.
  • Recommend tooling solutions based on customer applications and production requirements.
  • Prepare quotations and follow opportunities through the sales cycle to close business.
  • Build relationships with engineers, production managers, shop owners, and purchasing personnel.
  • Maintain accurate customer and opportunity records within the CRM system.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quoting, operations, and customer service teams to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Continuously develop and share technical product knowledge and stay informed on industry trends and customer needs.
