About The Position

EnerSys is seeking a qualified Technical Sales Representative to help us sell the products and services that our customers have grown to rely on. The Technical Sales Representative will have a passion for success, strong understanding of the sales process, excel at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, and go-getter with strong negotiating skills, and the ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way.

Requirements

  • At least 2-5 years of sales experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record with minimal traffic violations.
  • Must be 18 years of age to drive a company vehicle.
  • Able and willing to travel to customer sites - 70% travel
  • Able and willing to do overnight travel
  • Primarily local travel with occasional national travel and overnight travel throughout the year

Nice To Haves

  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Specific industry sales experience is a plus, especially a proven track record of success selling advanced battery chemistries.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently exceed your sales quota by retaining, growing, and prospecting clients within your account territory.
  • Use product knowledge in conjunction with knowledge of customers’ project objectives to develop unique value propositions supported by financial impact analysis and feasibility studies.
  • Use Salesforce for customer relationship management activities.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, meetings, and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance relationships with key personnel for product development and sales.
  • Willingness to travel nationally on a frequent basis.
  • A drive for self-education and learning new products, services, and business processes.
  • Other activities include proposals, pricing, presentations, forecasting, program management, and other duties as required.
  • The primary duty is to exercise discretion and independent judgment when dealing with critical matters.
  • Identify the right customer stakeholders and build connections quickly to drive consensus for deals; works cooperatively with wide range of internal stakeholders for deal success.
  • Independently and collaboratively strategize for solving deal-level challenges.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures as listed, but not limited to: warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000.
  • All other duties may be assigned.
