About The Position

EnerSys is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Technical Sales Representative to join our team in Romeoville, IL. This role is responsible for driving sales growth by promoting and delivering the trusted products and services our customers depend on. The successful candidate will build strong customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and manage the sales process from lead generation through contract close. The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional with strong technical aptitude, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a passion for helping customers solve business challenges. This individual will effectively present the value of EnerSys solutions, collaborate across teams, and contribute to overall business growth by delivering an exceptional customer experience and achieving sales objectives.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in sales.
  • 2-5 years of sales experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong ability to read, comprehend, and interpret manuals, procedures, and other business documents in English.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and minimal traffic violations.
  • Must be 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle.
  • Willing and able to travel 80% of the time within the Romeoville, IL territory.
  • Willing to travel overnight (5-8 days per year) for training and sales meetings.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasions.
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in technical sales, particularly within the battery or energy storage industry.
  • Proven track record of success selling advanced battery chemistries or related technical products.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently exceed sales quotas by retaining, growing, and prospecting clients within an assigned territory.
  • Leverage product knowledge and customer insights to develop unique value propositions supported by financial impact analysis and feasibility studies.
  • Manage customer relationships and sales activities using Salesforce CRM.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events to promote products and stay informed on market trends.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment between customer needs and product offerings.
  • Stay up-to-date with new products, services, and business processes through continuous learning and self-education.
  • Prepare proposals, pricing structures, presentations, and sales forecasts while managing sales programs effectively.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in handling critical business matters.
  • Identify key customer stakeholders, build strong relationships, and drive consensus for deal success.
  • Strategize independently and collaboratively to overcome deal-level challenges.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
