About The Position

Minerals Technologies Inc. is a global, technology-driven specialty minerals company. CETCO, a Minerals Technologies Company, engineers smart, reliable technologies and solutions for various industries. This position is for a Technical Sales Manager responsible for executing sales and marketing plans for Drilling Products in the Southeast USA. The role involves increasing revenue and meeting sales targets by growing the distribution network, working with existing distributors, and expanding direct sales to large contractors. The manager will manage a pipeline of opportunities, provide on-site technical support on construction sites, educate engineering firms, and increase brand awareness through industry events and presentations. Key responsibilities include building relationships with contractors through "drilling fluid schools," planning and managing territory travel within budget, defining territory goals, forecasting sales, developing and executing sales strategies, managing the daily sales cycle, reporting activities and trends, developing new business, documenting interactions in a CRM, and collaborating with corporate departments. The role also involves providing input for product development and actively participating in OE/Lean initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Sciences, Business or Marketing or industry relevant experience.
  • Experience in selling to distribution networks is preferred.
  • Strong presentation, public speaking, and communication skills are mandatory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM programs.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and possess the ability to work within a team environment.
  • Proven track record of experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously is necessary.
  • Drilling industry experience is desirable.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sales and marketing plan for Drilling Products throughout the territory.
  • Increase revenue and reach sales targets for all distribution markets.
  • Grow distribution network to support business goals.
  • Work with existing distributors to increase market share.
  • Support distributors at industry events.
  • Expand direct sales to large contractors at the discretion of the TSM & the Sales Director.
  • Manage and grow a pipeline of opportunities using strategic selling techniques.
  • Provide on-site technical support to contractors, distributors, and project owners, including working on active construction sites in a teaching role.
  • Educate engineering firms on CETCO products through regular contact and presentations.
  • Provide technical support to get CETCO products specified on bids.
  • Increase brand awareness by representing CETCO at local and national conferences and tradeshows.
  • Educate distributors, contractors, engineers, and project owners by presenting at industry-specific seminars and for continuing education events.
  • Meet and develop relationships with contractors by scheduling and teaching "drilling fluid schools" regularly.
  • Work independently to plan, organize, and manage territory travel schedule within the assigned budget.
  • Define and manage territory goals and provide Sales Director with an up-to-date forecast.
  • Develop, execute, and evolve sales strategy to achieve assigned monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Manage daily activities of the sales cycle including sales calls, quotes, and follow-ups.
  • Provide a report of weekly activities and territory trends to the Sales Director.
  • Develop new business through leads, cold calling, networking, and prospecting.
  • Document customer interactions and opportunities in a Customer Relationship Management program (CRM).
  • Work with sales support, accounts receivable, lab personnel, and other corporate departments to provide for customer requirements.
  • Provide input and participate in product development.
  • Actively participate in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work, and Problem Solving.
