Technical Sales Associate

American Chillers LLCWest Columbia, SC
$50,000 - $60,000Onsite

About The Position

American Chillers is a growing chiller manufacturer in Columbia, SC, building cooling equipment for cold plunge, breweries, dry cleaning, medical, and other niche industries. Our customers come to us — through our website, quote requests, and referrals. We need someone in the office to catch those inbound requests, turn them into quotes and orders, keep our CRM sharp, and back up our senior sales team so nothing falls through the cracks. This is an entry-level, office-based role — but make no mistake, it's a technical sales role. You'll be quoting configured industrial equipment, reading specs, and talking tonnage, temperatures, and options. We're looking for someone with real technical aptitude — this isn't selling cell phones. You're not on the road and you're not cold-calling. You're the inside engine that keeps sales moving.

Requirements

  • Communicate clearly and warmly, in writing, on the phone, and by email.
  • Are organized and detail-oriented — quotes and orders have to be right, and you're the check.
  • Comfortable on a computer and quick to learn new software (CRM, quoting tools, Microsoft Office).
  • Like helping customers and enjoy the "figure out what they need and get it to them" part of sales.
  • Have real technical aptitude. You're comfortable with technical products, specs, and numbers — you can learn to read a chiller spec, talk tonnage and temperatures, and understand how the equipment works. This is industrial equipment, not retail; mechanical curiosity matters more than a polished sales pitch.
  • Dependable and steady when it gets busy, and take ownership of loose ends.
  • Comfortable pitching in on basic marketing collateral — keeping sell sheets current and writing the occasional customer story or social post. Not a marketing specialist, just handy with words and organized.
  • Associate's degree or higher in business or technical fields
  • Bring some technical or mechanical grounding — an industrial/manufacturing/distribution/HVAC/parts-counter background, a technical degree or hobby, or a proven knack for picking up technical products fast. We'll train you on chillers specifically, but you should already be wired for technical work.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first responder on website inquiries, RFQs, and quote requests — read them carefully, qualify them, and route or run with them.
  • Build accurate, professional quotes for chillers and options, working from our pricing and specs.
  • Turn accepted quotes into clean orders, enter them correctly, and confirm the details so production and shipping get it right the first time.
  • Keep every lead, quote, and customer record current and complete so the whole team can trust what's in the system.
  • Back up our senior sellers — follow up on open quotes, chase down the info a deal needs, prep paperwork, and keep deals moving.
  • Be a friendly, responsive point of contact for order status, lead times, and product questions.
  • Keep our product sell sheets and spec sheets current, and pitch in on occasional content — a customer case study, a social post, website copy tweaks.

Benefits

  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays
