FST Technical Services•, (Multiple States)
•$80,000 - $100,000•Remote

About The Position

FST Technical Services is seeking an experienced Technical Recruiter with a strong background recruiting commissioning engineering professionals within the mission-critical facilities and data center construction markets to support the continued growth of our Commissioning organization. This specialized role focuses on identifying, engaging, and hiring experienced electrical and mechanical commissioning professionals supporting mission-critical facilities, hyperscale data centers, advanced manufacturing, and other complex construction environments. The ideal candidate is not simply an experienced engineering recruiter. We are looking for someone who understands the commissioning talent market and has demonstrated success recruiting engineers with hands-on experience in commissioning, startup, testing, functional performance testing, and turnover of complex electrical and mechanical building systems. This recruiter will own searches from initial sourcing strategy through candidate acceptance and will partner directly with FST recruiting leadership, operations leaders, hiring managers, and project teams to build strong technical talent pipelines across the United States.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical recruiting experience within engineering, with direct experience in construction engineering, commissioning, mission-critical facilities, and data center environments.
  • Demonstrated success recruiting electrical and/or mechanical engineers with commissioning backgrounds.
  • Direct experience recruiting within the data center, mission-critical, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or similarly complex facility construction markets.
  • Strong understanding of the commissioning lifecycle and the professionals involved in bringing complex facilities from construction through startup and operational readiness.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and engage passive technical candidates.
  • Experience managing multiple specialized technical searches simultaneously.
  • Strong candidate assessment and interviewing skills.
  • Experience partnering directly with engineering, construction, operations, or project leadership.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and modern recruiting/sourcing platforms, including LinkedIn Recruiter.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with recruiting professionals experienced with Electrical Systems (Medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution, Switchgear and switchboards, UPS systems, Emergency and standby generators, Automatic transfer switches, PDUs and RPPs, EPMS, Electrical testing and startup, Integrated Systems Testing (IST)).
  • Familiarity with recruiting professionals experienced with Mechanical Systems (Chilled-water systems, Chillers and cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC equipment, Air-handling systems, Pumps and hydronic systems, HVAC controls, BAS/BMS, Mechanical startup and functional performance testing).
  • Familiarity with recruiting professionals experienced with Commissioning & Mission Critical (Levels 1-5 commissioning, Pre-functional and functional performance testing, Equipment startup, Systems verification, Integrated Systems Testing, MEP commissioning, Construction turnover and closeout, Data center commissioning, Hyperscale and mission-critical facility construction).

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for commissioning engineering positions ranging from field-level engineers through senior technical and project management leadership roles.
  • Recruit Electrical Commissioning Engineers, Mechanical Commissioning Engineers, Commissioning Project Engineers, Commissioning Project Managers, Lead Commissioning Engineers, and other mission-critical technical professionals.
  • Develop targeted sourcing strategies for difficult-to-fill commissioning positions within the data center and mission-critical facility construction markets.
  • Proactively identify and recruit passive candidates rather than relying primarily on inbound applicants.
  • Build and maintain pipelines of commissioning professionals for current projects and anticipated future project needs.
  • Source candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, industry networks, referrals, technical organizations, job boards, internal databases, and direct outreach.
  • Conduct detailed recruiter screens to evaluate commissioning experience, technical background, project history, leadership capabilities, travel requirements, compensation expectations, and overall fit.
  • Understand the difference between general MEP construction experience and true commissioning, startup, testing, and functional verification experience.
  • Partner closely with Commissioning leadership and hiring managers to understand project requirements, staffing forecasts, technical competencies, and hiring priorities.
  • Develop strong relationships with candidates working within the mission-critical and data center construction community.
  • Maintain accurate candidate, requisition, activity, and hiring information within the applicant tracking system.
  • Manage candidates throughout the recruiting process and maintain consistent communication from initial contact through offer acceptance and onboarding transition.
  • Track recruiting activity and performance against established metrics, including pipeline development, candidate submissions, interviews, hires, time-to-fill, and retention.
  • Represent FST professionally in a highly competitive technical talent market.
