About The Position

At ABB, the Technical Project Manager leads field-based technical execution of Electrification Solutions projects, ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The role is accountable for fulfilling contractual commitments on schedule and within budget while maintaining high customer satisfaction. It uses technical expertise to address challenges, formulate and implement objectives for self and others, and influence short- and long-term business goals. The position is hybrid and based in Houston, Texas; Lake Mary, Florida; or Mebane, North Carolina. It may require presence at customer and project sites, with travel as needed to support field activities. The role reports to the Project Operations Manager.

Requirements

Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and a zero-incident culture.
At least 8 years of construction or field experience, preferably with an electrical systems background.
Completion of 2 years of trade school or college, or equivalent journeyman experience.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, specifications, and one-line diagrams.
Working knowledge of ATS, UPS, and switchgear systems, with exposure to commissioning and EPMS/SCADA concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including creative issue resolution.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Proven experience managing subcontractors, trade labor, and multi-discipline field teams.
Willingness to travel 50% and as required.

Responsibilities

Lead the project team, establish the project execution approach, and oversee planning, monitoring, and control activities for internal and external resources to accomplish project goals.
Monitor and control project progress, efficient resource utilization, and project financials.
Identify, qualify, quantify, and manage project risks, and ensure opportunities are identified and pursued.
Drive formal project acceptance, contract close-out, and customer acknowledgment in accordance with the contract.
Travel to customer sites, project locations, and ABB facilities as needed to support project execution.
