About The Position

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for the semiconductor and display industries. This Technical Project Manager role is within the ALD Manufacturing Engineering team, primarily supporting ALD New Product Transitions. Responsibilities may also extend to supporting New Product Transitions, Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP), and Refurbished Systems. The role requires collaboration within a team environment, supporting colleagues and working with various departments including Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, Suppliers, Business Management, Finance, and Test Technicians. The position involves managing the transition of new ALD products, such as 'quad wafer' chamber and Trillium products, from lab development through early learning shipments, pilot line builds, and ultimately to customer Development Tool of Record (DTOR) shipments. The project manager will ensure product progression by overseeing build and test documentation, supplier quality, and field quality, aiming to meet performance goals for capacity, cycle time, and quality before transitioning to volume production.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project plans and coordinate the attainment of project deliverables from planning to implementation.
• Maintain a matrix for process improvements.
• Drive project deliverables and task details using reports, tracking charts, and checklists.
• Align the activities of internal resources to achieve on-time and within-budget performance objectives for the project.
• Monitor and report on the project's cost performance to the business unit.
• Participate on intra-business unit design teams to complete projects.
• Contribute to the team's technical development in the pursuit of project goals.
• Research causes of project obstacles and assist in implementing solutions for resolution.
• Manage manufacturing builds, starting with lab chambers and ELS builds through the ALD pilot line.
• Manage programs and builds as ALD Austin Manufacturing ships DTOR shipments to customers.
• Ensure product progression with build and test documentation, supplier quality, and field quality.
• Complete the new product transition to volume once the new product’s modules meet performance goals for capacity, cycle time, and quality.
