Technical Project Management

Applied Materials•Gloucester, MA
•$96,000 - $132,000

About The Position

The Technical Project Manager drives high-velocity execution of critical, business-impacting initiatives for the Varian division of Applied Materials. The role manages a portfolio of cost reduction, resiliency, and value engineering projects, leading them from concept through qualification and production enablement. The TPM creates credible forecasts for cost savings, timing, and delivery risk, while aligning programs with product roadmaps and business-unit priorities. The role owns outcomes, drives accountability, and ensures projects deliver measurable business impact. Success requires cross-functional collaboration across engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain, along with the ability to influence stakeholders and accelerate decisions in a complex, matrixed organization. The role integrates value programs into product strategies, drives early business-unit buy-in, and ensures disciplined execution at scale. The ideal candidate has managed large, multi-threaded project portfolios in the semiconductor capital equipment industry or similarly complex manufacturing environments and has delivered meaningful cost and operational improvements.
