About The Position

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As a Technical Project Manager, you will integrate and manage the various projects of the Actuated, Structures, and Fluids design teams, with a focus on meeting program cost and schedule objectives through creative problem solving and strong judgement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in aerospace, mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering; physics; or other major requiring engineering or manufacturing core courses
  • 9+ years experience working on aerospace development programs or production lines in both leadership and hands-on roles; experience on commercial development programs a plus
  • Strong skills in Excel, Project, and Primavera P6
  • Experience with assembly and integration of aerospace vehicles across a range of launch vehicle subsystems including avionics, fluids, and mechanical
  • Ability to build productive relationships and help guide a “dotted line” team to success
  • Comfortable effectively communicating with senior management on progress, issues, and solutions
  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams

  • Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills and a proven ability to drive complex projects with minimal oversight

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate multiple functional organizations in the execution of engineering projects, such as: Actuator Development for Control Surfaces, Pressure Vessel Development for Pneumatic Systems, Development and Demonstration of Thermal Protection Systems
  • Assist in managing the functional organizations’ earned value estimating and basis of estimate reviews
  • Integrate the master schedule across organizations and mitigate all actual and near critical paths to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Work with the team to identify technical solutions and improvements
  • Drive the recurring status and variance analysis processes to further manage cost and schedule performance
  • Evaluate and support the functional organizations’ staffing plans and hiring efforts
  • Work within cost and schedule management tools in Excel, Project, and Primavera P6
  • Develop relationships throughout the organization and partner with management teams in understanding, in real-time, their progress and potential issues.
  • Partner with them in resolving those issues before they impact cost and schedule performance
