About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our team and help manage the high-performance compute (HPC) platform management team. This is a contractor position where you will lead initiatives across compute, storage, network, Kubernetes, and datacenter operations, working at the intersection of hyperscale environments and advanced HPC technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end management of projects aimed at optimizing and scaling our infrastructure. Your work will span high-performance computing (HPC) with CPU and GPU resources, network management, and storage solutions. You will also play a key role in process optimization efforts, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance project delivery and infrastructure efficiency. The ideal candidate brings a solid background in infrastructure implementation and operations, ideally within a large-scale technical environment. You'll also bring hands-on experience with JIRA-based planning, process design and documentation, and strong proficiency in creating strategic and operational presentation materials. Additionally, you should be confident in delivering clear, data-driven project updates to senior leadership. This is a high-impact role in a complex technical environment, and you will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading engineers and architects. You will oversee project timelines, manage resources, and ensure alignment between the technical team and business goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management, with a focus on cloud infrastructure, datacenter operations, or HPC environments.
  • Strong familiarity with process improvement and optimization methodologies.
  • Proficient in JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, and other project management tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in documenting and presenting strategic project materials using PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to communicate project status, risks, and insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing projects across compute (CPU/GPU), storage, networking, and datacenter infrastructure.
  • Hands-on understanding of cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform) from a management perspective.
  • Strong project management capabilities including scope definition, resource allocation, budgeting, and timeline control.
  • Ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating requirements and ensuring delivery alignment.
  • Familiarity with HPC or large-scale distributed computing environments.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for high-performance compute infrastructure initiatives, ensuring successful delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including compute/storage, network engineers, architects, and cloud operations—to design and implement robust HPC solutions.
  • Drive the planning, execution, and delivery of projects involving cloud-based and on-premise compute infrastructure, including scheduling, risk management, and resource allocation.
  • Define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle while managing dependencies and adjusting plans as needed.
  • Provide structured project updates and executive-level reporting to leadership, ensuring visibility of key milestones, blockers, and dependencies.
  • Utilize JIRA, Confluence, and related tools to track progress, assign tasks, and facilitate agile planning and retrospectives.
  • Develop and maintain process design and operational documentation, alongside preparing strategic and operational materials using tools like Confluence and Power Point.
  • Lead process optimization initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, team coordination, and resource utilization within the infrastructure domain.
  • Support post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure projects align with long-term business strategies and the company's technical roadmap.
