About The Position

Steampunk is seeking a creative and hands-on Technical Project Manager who is an expert in delivering innovative technology solutions. This role involves leading teams through the complete life cycle of solution development and delivery, providing Agile Project Management and Scrum Master support, coordinating backlog prioritization with product owners and stakeholders, creating release schedules and roadmaps, and establishing technical practices and release management standards. The individual will ensure Agile scrum processes are followed effectively and drive high client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • 8 years of experience in tactical project management of highly technical initiatives.
  • Strong judgment, negotiation skills, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Experience working in a complex engineering environment.
  • Prior experience as a technical project manager.
  • Ability to establish trust with a variety of stakeholders and customers.
  • Self-managed and self-starter, ability to work independently.
  • Thrives to be a leader.
  • A degree or equivalent, preferably in Information Technology or related field.
  • Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US government.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, Scrum Master certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the project tasking and delivery in a government client consulting environment.
  • Serving as a client liaison, team coach, and mentor.
  • Managing and maintaining successful relationships with the client and identifying new opportunities.
  • Developing and driving high-level strategic initiatives.
  • Managing remote project delivery teams.
  • Facilitating technical discussions to troubleshoot project implementation issues.
  • Assessing current organization and delivery environments and recommending optimal Agile practices.
  • Providing Agile Scrum Master support and attending Agile ceremonies.
  • Removing blockers to ensure project success.
  • Coaching the Product Owner and team on backlog refinement and prioritization.
  • Handling challenging client situations and offering technical and business guidance.
  • Leading and managing staff, and monitoring staff performance.
  • Evaluating project feasibility, eliminating non-productive tasking, and finding creative ways to ensure and accelerate project delivery.
  • Assisting staff with training needs to create skills expansion and career advancement opportunities.
